The family of 16-year-old Jouke, who was arrested during a farmer’s protest near Heerenveen, is considering filing a report against the police. Their lawyer Robert Snorn confirms this after reporting in the AD. “It is a personal decision of the family, but I could imagine that they file a report.”

During the protest, the police fired shots at the ramp to the A32, both aimed and as a warning, hitting the boy’s tractor. He was then arrested along with two men and released on Wednesday. The Public Prosecution Service initially suspected the three of attempted murder, but no longer sees that reason. According to Snorn, there is no longer any suspicion of a criminal offense against Jouke. “At most a traffic violation.”

According to Snorn, the 16-year-old is doing well. “He’s quite shaken, but he’s a happy boy. He was treated well at the police station.”
