“Family drama cannot be ruled out”: home of grandparents of missing Émile (2) searched again | Instagram VTM NEWS

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of the French Émile (2) seems to be increasing. Earlier this week, investigators searched a dozen houses and vehicles in the hamlet of Le Vernet, where the toddler disappeared four months ago. According to the newspaper ‘Le Parisien’, a search also took place at the homes of Émile’s grandparents. “This means that investigators have not yet ruled out the possibility of a family drama,” it said.

Last Tuesday there was another massive search for little Émile, who disappeared from his grandparents’ garden on July 8. According to ‘Le Parisien’, the police actions were the result of an earlier telephone investigation. The newspaper reports that the homes of Anne and Philippe Vedovini, the toddler’s grandparents, were also searched.

“The parents of Émile’s mother, who were watching the child when he disappeared, underwent a double search: one at their main home in La Bouilladisse (a municipality in the south of France, ed.) and one in their country residence in Le Vernet,” the newspaper writes. According to ‘Le Parisien’, the searches suggest that investigators have not yet ruled out the possibility of an “intrafamilial tragedy under the guise of a disappearance”.

Speculation

There has been speculation in the French media for months about Émile’s family, more specifically his parents and grandparents. For example, Anne and Philippe’s home was reportedly set on fire a few years ago. It may have been an act of hate against their extreme right-wing sympathies.

In addition, some sources claim that on the day of his disappearance, Émile went to play with his nephews in a tree house near a mountain pass. In the hut, Émile was reportedly able to relax, “away from his strict grandfather”.

In an interview with the Catholic magazine ‘Famille Chrétienne’, grandfather Philippe, a physiotherapist by profession, defended himself and emphasized that the picture painted of the family does not correspond to reality. “I come across as a dominant guy who terrorizes everyone, but that’s not true at all,” the man said.
