The tragic past surprisingly helped Nina Mikko to cope.
Inka Soveri
Nina Mikkonen a happy family life took a dark turn in 2011. At the time, his now-deceased spouse Timo TA Mikkonen (1947–2017) suffered a cranial artery occlusion and several cerebral infarctions. Timo TA was paralyzed, blinded and lost his immediate memory.
At that time, Nina became the caregiver of her husband and practically the sole caregiver of two children under the age of 10. He also took care of the big house, the company – and the debts. Nina now knows, five years after Timo TA’s death, that she can only leave her sons a spiritual legacy, but she can be proud of that legacy.
– Leave no man behind. Love is deeds, it’s not words, Nina states today Sean Ricksin hosted on a Friday talk show.

Nowadays, Nina is better off than during the toughest years. In the most painful moments, he lived like a nightmare. In a hopeless situation, Nina admits she has planned a family death. First he would have deprived his children of their lives, then Timo TA and finally himself. So in the end, tired and inconsolable he was.
Timo TA also asked his wife to kill himself when he woke up to his situation.
In the midst of all the darkness, Nina gained strength from her own tragic past. Nina’s father shot himself when his daughter was only 12 years old. Nina’s mother survived.
– I said to myself, remember that nothing goes on forever. Neither good nor bad, Nina recalls how she got herself cast in faith.
– When I saw that the boys were growing and developing, I felt great pride and hope that everything is worth fighting for, Nina describes how the light began to cover the shadows.

Like her mother, Nina is a survivor. However, he is not worthless. Both Nina and her children have suffered from depression.
