Families Hebe and Sanne in deep mourning: ‘Our grief is intense’

“Our grief is intense and very, very great.” The families of Hebe (10) and Sanne (26) write this in a statement, after the car containing the girl and her supervisor was found in the water along the Empel junction on Wednesday evening.

“Last night we were informed of the news that Hebe and Sanne are no longer there,” the families’ written response begins. This was brought out by the organization On behalf of the Family, part of Victim Support. “Since Monday night we have been living between hope and despair. This is a terrible end to a great drama.”

“That is a huge support for us in this difficult time.”

The families also express their thanks to everyone who assisted in the search. “Over the past few days, the police have worked with all their might to search for Hebe and Sanne. Many volunteers have also set out who searched or helped in some other way. For us, in these difficult times, this is an enormous support.”

Finally, the families ask for peace, so that they can process their grief. Statements of support can be handed in at the HebeHuis at Van Voorst tot Voorststraat 4 in Vught.
