Faisal Kawusi calls Kurt Krömer an “H-son” and “moral apostle”

Comedian Faisal Kawusi was a guest in the sixth episode of season 7 of Kurt Krömer’s show “Chez Krömer”. The episode will air on December 6th, but is already in the ARD media library available. On Thursday (December 1st), Kawusi reacted to the episode in a live stream on Twitch and complained about Kurt Krömer.

“Then this H-son comes and presents himself as a moral apostle,” said Kawusi in the stream. He describes Krömer’s behavior as “disrespectful”, “self-righteous” and “shameless”. Kawusi also said that he had already had a “very bad day” at the time of the show. “I expected it to be critical – but I thought there was a funny coat on it,” reports Kawusi about the show. Already at the beginning of the show, Krömer begins to rail against the comedian, according to the format: “I’ve read everything again, it’s going to be a real shit show today. Her biography would be a loose-leaf binder. A folder with three pages and lots of pictures”, and: “Let’s be honest. You’re actually only known because of the shitstorm after that knockout drop spell,” he says to the comedian.

Krömer is referring to a situation from April 2022: the influencer Joyce Ilg had posted a picture with the comedian Luke Mockridge on Instagram and the description “Did any of you find eggs here? I only got a few knockout drops,” wrote. She justified the joke by explaining that it was a joke Mockridge had on one of his programs in the past. “It was clear to me that not everyone would find it funny, and it doesn’t have to. My sense of humor has few boundaries and I stand by that,” she wrote. YouTuber Silvi Carlson criticized the post, saying: “I almost died from knockout drops once. Not cool, Joyce.” Whereupon Faisal Kawusi followed up with the following sentence: “Next time I will increase the dose, I promise.”

Kawusi is of the opinion that you know him from more than just the “Shitstorm”. He explains that he is an influencer and stands for body positivity. Krömer replies, unimpressed: “So photos?”, whereupon Kawusi says: “You know me from that. Or do we use the first name?” “Yes, give me the first name and then I would use the first name,” replies Krömer. Kurt Krömer continues to follow suit and continues to be very critical of Kawusi’s joke about the knockout drops. “So you’re telling me that you’ve never made a gag about a subject that has a very serious background? Do you really want to sit down in this ivory tower and point down like everyone else and say: Kawusi, you are the only one who has ever made a joke about a topic that has a serious background?” Kawusi replies to the moderator. Kawusi also explains to Krömer that he himself has been given such drops before, but Krömer doesn’t buy it. That’s why Kawusi didn’t want to make fun of rape victims with the joke, but tried to “excite and I definitely succeeded.” In the end, the conversation developed into an argument, both were disappointed in each other and Krömer ended the show with them words: “You only talk shit…that means you can fuck off now.”

Kawusi complained on Thursday (December 1) in his Twitch live stream: “There were Nazis, really disgusting racists. He was nicer to them than to me.” During the almost three-hour stream, the comedian brings in several interlocutors. One of the guests has worked for television for several years and thinks Kawusi behaved worse than Krömer. “I understand that not all gags please everyone. All people see a gag at the moment. It’s a mosaic of my personality. To dare to judge my whole character on the basis of that: You have to shift down a gear,” Kawusi explained afterwards.

In the past, Kawusi has repeatedly received criticism for his “jokes” – for example, when he bashed parents and, as he had no children, declared that he had no sympathy for children playing with tablets in restaurants.
