Meta has acquired Presize, a Munich start-up that offers technology for a digital size assistant. This was confirmed by the owner of social media such as Facebook and Instagram when asked by FashionUnited. Various media had previously reported on the basis of Gründerszene.de. The platform has an entry from the commercial register that refers to the takeover.
“We are excited to have members of the Presize team join Meta. This partnership will provide people and businesses with better tools that will enhance the shopping journey on our Commerce products,” said a Meta spokesperson.
The US technology group cannot share any further information at the moment. So it remains unclear to what extent the team members will be taken over by Presize. The purchase price is also not known.
Presize was founded by Leon Szeli, Awais Shafique and Tomislav Tomov. The start-up gained notoriety in 2020 through its participation in the TV format ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’, where the founders were able to convince jury member Carsten Maschmeyer. As a result, several individuals such as Chris Brenninkmeyer, ex-director at C&A, and Christina Rosenberg, board member at Hugo Boss, invested in the company.
