Facebook’s homepage feed does not work for at least some users. Instead of content according to the algorithm, the feed shows publications from unknown individual accounts, for example, to the accounts of artists and celebrities.
According to the Downdetector platform error messages started pouring in shortly before morning on Wednesday.
The cause of the problems is currently unknown.
Technology expert Trevor Long writes on Twitter that he believes Facebook is trying to change back the algorithm that controls what people see in their feeds.
This is hardly likely, as some of the messages are aimed at Facebook or to make fun of the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
The problem has also been noted in Sweden.
