There were considerable disturbances in the use of Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday.
Significant disturbances were observed in the social media services Facebook and Instagram managed by Meta on Tuesday from around 17:00.
Several Facebook users were logged out of the application and could not log in to Facebook. Also, the Instagram application did not work or update normally. In addition, Facebook’s separate Messenger messaging service was also upset.
Around 19:00 Finnish time, the situation normalized and the applications started working as usual.
Website disruptions following Downdetector service According to the report, there were widespread global disruptions in the use of Facebook and Instagram. For example, at 17:30 Finnish time, more than 350,000 outages were reported on Facebook and more than 47,000 on Instagram.
Meta’s director of communications Andy Stone reported problems with the instant messaging service X.
– We are aware that we have difficulties with our services. We are working on this now, Stone wrote.
