Öberg wins – Preuss leads before the last shooting
Elvira Öberg (Sweden/1 penalty) refused to be caught, she kept the narrow lead she had after the last standing stage and won in 34:41.6 minutes. Behind them, the fight for second place raged. Herrmann and Röiseland delivered a gripping finish – with the better ending for the German.
The fact that Herrmann was able to intervene in the fight for victory at all was also due to Franziska Preuss. One day after her 28th birthday, Preuss ran a very strong race. After three error-free series, Preuss was the first to come to the last shooting. Now five more direct hits and her first win of the season would be certain.
But things turned out differently. Because a disc didn’t want to fall, she had to go into the round. She came back fourth but lost another place on the track and ended up fifth. “Sometimes someone can go wrong. That’s why I’m generally satisfied with one mistake. Of course it’s annoying, but I can’t expect to get away with a zero.”said Preuss.
Voigt as the only one without missing a shot
Vanessa Voigt was the only one of the 30 starters to remain flawless. 13.8 seconds behind Öberg, the revelation of the season from a German point of view ran to her next top result in sixth place.
Hildebrand in the top 20 – Hinz messes up at the shooting range
Franziska Hildebrand – who was in the second-rate IBU Cup for a long time this season – got mixed up in the concert of the best as 20th (4 penalties/+ 1:40.7 minutes). Vanessa Hinz (27th / 4 errors / + 2:52.0 minutes), on the other hand, struggled again at the shooting range.
