Eyebrow microshading: what it is, healing, results

THEL microshading is a permanent eyebrow makeup technique full and intense. To be performed also in synergy with the most famous microblading it is particularly recommended in case of mixed or oily skin. Here’s everything you need to know.

Microshading eyebrows, what is it

The microshading it’s a manual semi-permanent tattoo technique used to make the arch of the eyebrows thicker.

Often combined (and confused) with the microblading, the two techniques differ in the final effect: the first allows you to obtain a “hair-hair” look by redesigning – where they are missing – the eyebrows, while the second recreates the makeup that is achieved with eyeshadow, giving greater fullness and definition.

Siren Eyes: the eye makeup trend for a more sensual look

«The finish of microshading – compared to microblading – is dusty and nuanced. Delicate part and becomes more intense and marked towards the end: remembering the effect that can be obtained with make-up» he begins to explain, Antonella Zito, salon owner Oh Lalash Monza.

How it is done

The microshading it is obtained through the use of a manual instrument at the end of which there is a very fine needle with which the pigment is released on the most superficial part of the dermis.

By tapping the tip of the needle, tiny extremely close dots are created which will create the impression of a uniform shade, improving eyebrow pigmentation and defining it in certain areas.

The result: Powder brows or pixel brows, eyeshadow effect

«If instead you want to obtain a more intense effect, microshading can also be performed with a dermograph, an electric tool similar to a tattoo machine. In this case it is called powder brows or pixel brows. The result will be cleaner and more defined, perfect for those who want a more effective look».

Furthermore, “this technique can be performed both to create a form from scratch, and to overlap and modify an old semi-permanent make-up job or simply to intensify the result of microblading at the time of retouching” continues the expert.

Yes for oily or combination skin

«Recommended for those with combination or oily skinmicroshading is often added at a later stage when after having performed the microblading, therefore with a more natural effect, or when one realizes that this has not reached the desired saturation in the healing phase».

«Thyroid and hormonal problems can also affect the final result of the tattoo. In these cases, in fact, we always tend to recommend microshading which has a more visible effect» continues the expert Antonella Zito.

Duration and cost of treatment

«The advantage of microshading or powder brows is that it tends to last longer than microblading. The first touch-up is in fact performed 30/60 days after the first session and subsequently only once a year».

«Obviously there are more problematic skins that may need an interim touch-up within the year, but usually the tattoo is not touched again for 14/16 months. In the end, the costs are between 500 and 600 euros and often include the first retouching session» concludes Antonella Zito.
