Extreme heat and wildfires: climate change or ‘normal’ for summer?

Heat records are falling at an unprecedented rate, heat waves are given frightening names and forests are burning out on La Palma. The summer holidays have only just begun, but it is already one of extremes. Climate warming at full speed, it sounds everywhere. But is that the case, or is this an ‘ordinary’ high summer? Or is there something else involved? We asked climate scientist Rozemien De Troch.
