The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon. The victim was driving home after work when he was suddenly confronted by an aggressive driver. He followed the man from the R4 – the Ghent ring road – towards the Brusselsesteenweg. The victim called his father in panic, while the other driver was hot on his heels.
The victim got out at his home in Oosterzele – about ten kilometers away – and the aggressive man did the same and attacked him. The fight ended when the latter bit off the victim’s ear. That was heard from a good source.
The police from the Rhode & Schelde region were asked on site to make the first findings. Emergency services arrived on scene to treat the victim. The public prosecutor’s office has also been informed. Information could no longer be provided on Monday evening. That may happen during Tuesday.
