To stop new field stormers, Telstar takes extra safety measures for the final of the after competition against Willem II. On Thursday evening, the club from Velsen-Zuid will receive the Tilburgers and to prevent supporters coming back onto the field, fences will be placed around and along the visitor compartment and extra security guards are switched on.

In the Telstar stadium it went wrong last Saturday, after FC Den Bosch had been won in the semi -final. After the last whistle, supporters came to the field en masse and strong fights broke out. The disturbances led to several injuries and an investigation by the police.

Field storms
“We think this is necessary to safely guarantee football,” says Leon Annokkée Managing Director of Telstar about the measures. “Storming the field is a new phenomenon and we want to get rid of it. For the players and the staff it is one thing. It doesn’t help and we are going to do everything to prevent it.”

“You learn from every competition again, so we are also going to scale up in terms of stewards and security,” Annokkée continued. “The stadium will be ram again soon and that is nice, but we also want to keep it fun. So that’s why we will use extra manpower.”

Solder
There is a large run on cards for the final of the play-offs, which already led to technical problems on the Telstar website. It is expected that the stadium with a capacity of 4,177 places will be fully sold out.

Also in Tilburg it went wrong this weekend after the semi-final in the play-offs against FC Dordrecht. Supporters of William II rang the field of the King Willem II Stadium en masse.
