An exciting day for the North Holland clubs in the Premier League today. AZ is competing with Ajax for fourth place in the Premier League. Both teams will face each other in the always charged meeting this afternoon at 4.45 pm in Alkmaar. The ball starts rolling at FC Volendam – sc Heerenveen at 8 p.m. You can follow this exciting battle live in an extra-long radio broadcast from NH Sport.
Although both teams are not in good shape, both AZ and Ajax received a mental boost last week. AZ won for the first time under the leadership of new coach Maarten Martens. In Sittard, Fortuna was defeated 2-1. Ajax qualified in Norway on Thursday evening at the expense of Bodø/Glimt (1-2) for the next round of the Conference League.
Ended on October 8 last year the last mutual meeting between Ajax and AZ at the Johan Cruijff Arena in a 2-1 win for AZ. You can hear how the match is going this afternoon from reporters Erik-Jan Brinkman and Edward Dekker.
FC Volendam
When the dust clouds in Alkmaar have cleared just after 6:30 PM, the NH Sport radio broadcast will continue on Sunday evening with FC Volendam – sc Heerenveen. The Volendam team is fighting against relegation and hopes to benefit tonight from the defeats that competitors RKC Waalwijk and Heracles Almelo suffered last night.
And although past results do not provide any guarantee: one of the three victories that Volendam achieved in this competition was away against sc Heerenveen (1-2).
The kick-off is at 8 p.m. in the Volendam stadium. Frank van der Meijden and Menno Schilder provide the match report. Furthermore, NH Sport also focuses on the indoor football match in the Premier League between Os Lusitanos and Hovocubo and the korfball cracker PKC – Koog Zaandijk.
The extra-long radio broadcast of NH Sport starts at 4:30 PM and lasts until 10:00 PM!
