Extra income is no longer completely punished: government ends unemployment trap | Money

At the request of Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peteghem (CD&V) the federal government has come up with a solution for the unemployment trap. Until recently, anyone with a limited income in addition to unemployment benefits could be subject to severe tax penalties. Some 150,000 people would now be better off, including if they temporarily return to work. This makes working more attractive for them.
