Extra buses and night trains to and from the TT

If you depend on public transport during the TT weekend, you don’t have to worry about not coming home at night. This year, too, there will be an extra number of buses and more night trains will be used.

During the TT party, more night buses will run on thirteen different bus lines of Qbuzz, Arriva and Drenthe Tours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Compared to last year, the Qbuzz buses will run more often to Dieverbrug, Westerbork, Borger and Gieten, among others.

There is also a shuttle bus from Drenthe Tours between camping Witterzomer and the bus stop at the Hertenkamp. NS trains also run between Assen and Beilen on Friday and Saturday nights. A night earlier there is only a bus to Beilen.

If you have to return to Groningen on Friday or Saturday night, you can catch another train at 3:50 am.

If you have a ticket for the practices, qualifications and/or races, you can also take the bus to the circuit. A bus shuttles up and down between the station and the TT Circuit from Thursday to Sunday almost 24 hours a day. “For visitors to the TT races, the NS uses longer trains to Assen on Saturday and Sunday.”

From Thursday there will also be extra driving on all Qbuzz bus lines around Assen. Moreover, only large buses are used on the lines to the capital. “Buses also run extra early at weekends from Smilde, Emmen, Beilen, Leek and Roden, among others.” Bus lines 24 (Assen-Borger) and 52 (Assen-Annen-Zuidlaren) also run all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

The above overview is not complete. OV Bureau Groningen Drenthe therefore advises travelers to check the travel planner in advance.

Another important reason to keep a close eye on the departure times is that Qbuzz cannot guarantee that all extra TT buses will also run. This has to do with high absenteeism among drivers.
