The TBS with conditions imposed on a 29-year-old man from Deventer was extended by two years this afternoon by the court in Groningen.
The popular YouTuber was convicted in 2021 for possession of child pornography, grooming (online child luring) and committing indecency in relation to his young fans.
The man’s two victims came from Drenthe and Groningen and were 14 and 11 years old at the time. The man was arrested after the father of the 11-year-old boy from Musselkanaal saw chat conversations. It turned out that the boy would have an appointment with the YouTuber.
A major search was launched for the boy. The boy eventually returned home himself. The Deventer said that he had not touched the boy, but the judge did not believe this because the man’s DNA material was found on the boy’s body.
The man’s computer contained child pornography. It also turned out that even before the meeting, he had incited the boy to commit lewd acts via the webcam.
The man also persuaded a 14-year-old boy from Roden to send partially naked images of himself via the webcam. The gamer was unable to meet this boy because the boy did not agree.
The court imposed a TBS with conditions because there was a good chance that the man would commit crimes again. He struggles with autism, an impulsive disorder and pedophilia.
The man started his treatment almost two years ago. However, this is ‘in its infancy’, the public prosecutor said. “What has been achieved so far is very fragile.”
The court extended the TBS by two years. He was also imposed a contact and location ban in connection with the victim from Musselkanaal.
