It is well known that FC Bayern is still looking for reinforcements for the six. But the German record champions are also said to be looking at a potential new addition in another position – and that is quite explosive.
As the “Daily Mail” reports, the people of Munich are monitoring the current situation of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. It is said that he is being discussed on Säbener Straße as a possible long-term successor to Manuel Neuer.
The four-time England goalkeeper is no longer the Gunners’ undisputed number one. Instead, team manager Mikel Arteta is planning a kind of rotation model with summer newcomer David Raya – not a nice situation for Ramsdale, who played all 38 Premier League games for the runners-up last season.
The rumor is explosive because FC Bayern actually wants to rely on top dog Neuer again in the goalkeeper position as soon as possible.
The 37-year-old is currently working on his comeback after his serious skiing injury. However, his contract expires next summer.
In addition to Neuer, substitute Sven Ulreich and, since shortly before the end of the transfer period, Daniel Peretz are also in the FC Bayern squad.
Competition for FC Bayern
The 23-year-old Israeli, who came from Maccabi Tel Aviv, is considered a great talent in his position. But one thing is clear: Ramsdale, who is only two years older, has significantly more experience than Peretz.
He already has a total of 151 games in England’s top division on his resume. He made it into the Three Lions’ tournament squad for both the 2021 European Championships and the 2022 World Cup, but did not play in either case.
In addition to FC Bayern, Chelsea FC is also said to be interested in Ramsdale. Its market value is currently estimated at around 40 million euros.
