Explosive thrown through destroyed window of porch in Amsterdam

A brick and then an explosive were thrown through the window of the porch at a house on Lavendelstraat in Noord last night. The explosion damaged the porch. Although the residents were present at the time, they were not injured.

The brick and explosive flew into the house around 1 a.m. The door belonged to the upstairs apartment of the building, where the residents were sleeping at the time of the explosion. A police explosives expert was also called in to investigate.

As is often the case with explosions, there is no trace of the suspect. The police are therefore asking witnesses who saw or heard something around the time to come forward. Local residents with a video doorbell or dashcam in their car are also asked to share the images for the investigation.
