Shock at Scholz’s departure in Tel Aviv, Israel!
Shortly before departure there was an air alarm at Ben Gurion Airport. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) had already boarded the government plane. All passengers had to get off the plane and lie down on the tarmac.
However, not Chancellor Scholz: he was driven straight to a shelter.
Explosions were then heard nearby. There were detonations from the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system that knocked Hamas rockets out of the sky.
According to BILD information, the BKA then searched the government plane – and checked the machine for possible dangers.
According to dpa, the passengers were able to get back on the plane after a few minutes.
