A fire broke out in a building on Onderlangs in the Stadshart this afternoon, presumably due to a gas explosion. Ambulances, fire trucks (also from surrounding places) and an air ambulance were called in. Three people were injured in the accident.

On the AD Zoetermeer website we read that a fire broke out around 2 p.m. after an explosion during work. Presumably in the building where the new restaurant De Watertuin will be located. The former BCC building is now being converted into the new restaurant.
Fire is extinguished
Several fire engines, ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called. It is not known how the fire started, presumably due to a gas explosion, according to a spokesperson for the fire service. The fire was extinguished by 2.30pm. The surrounding buildings have been evacuated by the fire service as a precaution.
