Explosion indeed an attack in drug environment: “I can’t believe that the house is still there, the bang was so strong” | Antwerp

UpdateAround 3.20 am, the entire neighborhood around the Rooseveltplaats in the center of Antwerp was startled by a loud bang. According to the police, an explosive device exploded in Osystraat, just behind the Antwerp Atheneum and close to Rooseveltplaats. The targeted terraced house suffered heavy damage, as did no less than twenty houses and five vehicles in the area. This is the attack with the heaviest material damage to date in Antwerp. The bomb was aimed at Xavier P., who is considered part of the drug network of Gianni B.
