An explosion took place in a residential area in the center of Eindhoven on Saturday night. The explosive went off in the front yard of one of the houses. A fire also started.
Officers found a half-burnt bottle on the street in front of the driveway of the affected house on Elzentlaan. It was probably filled with a fire accelerant, such as turpentine.
The street in front of the house was completely cordoned off as a crime scene so that the police could investigate. Traces have been recorded.
Alarm system
At the driveway of the house there is a pole with a camera and an alarm system. According to a 911 correspondent, every time the officers entered the driveway, the alarm went off and a light started flashing. “But the alarm system apparently did not deter the perpetrators enough.”
An explosive device also went off at a house in Eindhoven on Friday and that same night it also hit in Best, a neighboring municipality.
