Explosion at the Bladweg: battered front door | NOW

There was an explosion on the outside of a house on Bladweg in Amersfoort on Tuesday afternoon. As far as is known, there are no injuries.

Something exploded outside the window of the house. The residents of the house were not at home. The fire brigade broke open the front door of the house to get in, and checked whether a fire had broken out, which turned out not to be the case.

The police are also on the scene with several cars and are investigating the nature of the incident. The front window is visibly damaged. A hole in the center appears to be where the explosive detonated.

About an hour after the explosion, a number of people are still looking at the battered front door. “I live around the corner,” says a local resident. “I didn’t see anything that happened, just smoke when I walked up.”
