Explosion at supplier Toyota’s factory: car manufacturer partially halts production | Car companies

The manufacturer has fourteen factories in Japan. Certain activities were halted in two factories on Monday evening and ten production lines in six locations were affected on Tuesday. The disruption will also continue on Wednesday: eleven lines in seven factories will not start up.

Toyota is taking the measures after an explosion on Monday at a factory of supplier Chuo Spring. That company makes, among other things, car suspensions.

At the end of August, Toyota had to completely halt production in its home country for a day after server problems. In February 2022, a cyber attack at supplier Kojima Industries also forced the car manufacturer to halt production for one day.
