Explorer Beesel: continue with existing coalition | 1Limburg

It is best if CDA, VLP (Responsible Local Politics) and Beeselse List once again form a coalition in Beesel.

That is what explorer and public administration expert Petra Habets advises after talks with all four parties in the city council. According to her, a combination of the three parties creates the most stable coalition. Together CDA, VLP and Beeselse List are good for 12 of the 15 seats.

Unnecessary hassle
Habets does think that the parties should make better mutual agreements in order to avoid tensions such as those that occurred during the past term of office. “It is in the interest of the residents that there is no unnecessary hassle in the town hall. It is nice if there is a certain degree of predictability in trading,” said Petra Habets in her report.

Self-reflection
That is why she calls the necessary self-reflection on the part of the three parties over the past few years. She also reports that she has noted this in the discussions with the parties. Her advice means that the progressive list Together Further will once again end up in the opposition. The party won three seats in the elections, one more than in 2018.
