What will happen to Joshua Kimmich at FC Bayern? This summer the club can still cash in if the player moves. Dietmar Hamann has clear advice.
Dietmar Hamann advises national player Joshua Kimmich from FC Bayern to move abroad. “I have the feeling that this is the last summer where he can get a big club. He would flourish,” said TV expert Hamann on Sunday evening on the football talk “Sky90”.
And he added: “It would give him a boost to learn a new language and play new football.” Another question, however, is whether he even wants to go abroad with the whole family. “I think it’s good for him to see something different,” said former Bayern professional Hamann about the 29-year-old Kimmich, who has been with the German record champions since 2015. Kimmich’s contract is dated until June 30, 2025.
If the 29-year-old doesn’t extend his contract, the Munich team will have the last chance to collect a high fee this summer. Recently there had been repeated speculation about the future of the leading player. According to Hamann, Kimmich has often been a scapegoat for FC Bayern in bad phases in the past, although he usually “couldn’t do much about it.”
