Experienced forces leave Lebo: Amsterdam talent must fill the gap

After reaching the semi-finals, asv Lebo will have to build a new team next season. The futsal players from Amsterdam will see many players leave this summer, so coach Zaïd el Morabiti has to give young talents the opportunity. “We have to rely on youth and talents from Amsterdam,” said the coach.

This summer, El Morabiti will see no fewer than four players leave. Noureddine Oulad Ben Youssef joins Hovocubo† In addition, the experienced Jamal el Ghannouti, Yousef Makraou and Oscar Abouseada will also leave the Amsterdam club. The latter will make the switch to second divisionist Koninklijke HFC. “He has developed a lot this year,” says El Morabiti of the last man.

With the departure of El Ghannouti and Makraou, Lebo loses a cartload of experience. 39-year-old El Ghannouti, who was recently part of the European Championship selection, is considering putting an end to his career. The day before the semi-final against FC Eindhoven, El Ghannouti announced that he was leaving Lebo. Last week he passed his trainer’s diploma in futsal.

Lebo will largely absorb the departure of the experienced forces with young players. “A few youngsters will join the first,” said El Morabiti, who does not expect Lebo to go shopping at other clubs. “We have to rely on youth and talents from Amsterdam.” However, Soeremly te Vrede, Mohamed Chih and Lofti Attahiri will focus more on futsal and a number of talents are returning from injuries.

The indoor football players of Lebo had a strong season. In the final group, Lebo finished fourth, making it part of the play-offs for the national title. In the semi-finals Lebo forced a decision match, but in North Brabant Eindhoven turned out to be a size too big. This Friday, Hovocubo can insure itself of the national title if it wins, after it won the first meeting against FC Eindhoven last week.
