Between the UK and Belgium
To the Victoria & Albert Museum of South Kensington, London, one of the most successful fashion exhibitions of the year is underway. It’s about Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto, a retrospective dedicated to the work of the iconic French designer. Running until February 25, 2024, tickets are already available sold out. Still in the English capital, a stop is obligatory Design Museum For REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion, a journey to discover the talents who have shaped and revolutionized Brit fashion and beyond (until 11 February 2024). Self GlasgowScotland, celebrates the revolutionary vision of Mary Quantthe Fashion & Lace Museum in Brussels, Belgium, pays homage Diane Von Furstenbergnot only as a stylist but as an all-round woman, along with her wrap dresswhich celebrates its 50th birthday this year.
Exhibitions in Milan (and beyond) in October 2023
Given the great success, it has been extended until November 19th Guy Bourdin: Storyteller, the retrospective dedicated to the famous French photographer. Inside Armani/Silos to Milan One hundred photographs selected by Giorgio Armani and The Guy Bourdin Estate are on display, including iconic shots and lesser-known images. The strong link between photography and fashion is also at the heart of UNVEILEDthe first solo exhibition dedicated to the photography duo Luigi&Iangoto the Royal Palace Of Milan until November 16th. Visitors will be able to admire more than 100 prints of end of artvideos and archive works, as well as a special section dedicated to the collaboration with Madonna, with many previously unpublished images.

Still in Milan, the exhibition of is unmissable Bulgarians Serpenti 75 Years of Infinite Tales: a narrative journey through jewellery, watches, videos and archive materials, from the Sixties to today’s High Jewelery (from 11 October to 19 November at the Dazio di Levante in Piazza Sempione). Until November 19th, the Textile Museum Of Lawn presents KIMONO – Reflections of art between Japan and the West. On display, in addition to paintings and fabrics, fifty kimonos belonging to the exclusive private collection of Lydia Manavello, all dating back to the first and second quarter of the twentieth century. To the Ara Pacis Museum Of Romefinally arrives Helmut Newton. Legacythe large retrospective dedicated to the very famous photographer, open to the public from 18 October 2023 to 10 March 2024.

Stop in Paris
The French capital confirms itself as a very attentive place for the history of fashion and its protagonists. In view of next year’s Olympics, for example, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs presents Fashion and Sports: From one Podium to Another, open until 7 April 2024. A fascinating journey to discover the relationship between fashion and sport, from the ancient world to today. The Palais GallieraInstead, he signs Azzedine Alaïa, Couturier and Collector. A dive into the immense archive, never revealed before, that the Tunisian designer had created over the decades, including clothes from the last century and creations of his contemporaries.
