Excursion to the Red Dot Design Museum with the AMD Academy Mode & Design GmbH

Antonia is 21 years old and is in her second semester studying Brand & Communication Design (BA) in Düsseldorf. Together with other fellow students, there was an excursion to the Red Dot Design Museum, which only presents products that have been honored with the Red Dot Design Award. The Red Dot Design Award is an internationally recognized and renowned prize that is awarded annually to both products and agencies.
“Arrived at the museum, we were already welcomed by MetaDesign, the agency awarded by the Red Dot as Agency Of The Year,” says Antonia.

The agency was invited to give a presentation on everyday work in a design agency to the students. An AMD student who is currently doing her internship at MetaDesign also gave an exciting look at her new everyday life.

“The agency works at several locations and showed a few cases that were very interesting. I found the projects for HeidelbergCement and Henkel exciting. Both companies have been repositioned in terms of design. It was interesting for me to hear how the project went, what the goals were and how the end product was received by the employees at the end,” explains Antonia.

“Following the presentation, MetaDesign answered a few questions about the internship. The tips on how to apply were very helpful! Afterwards we got an exclusive tour of the Red Dot Design Museum and looked at MetaDesign’s own exhibition.”

Because of the award, a separate exhibition was dedicated to MetaDesign in the museum, in which the agency was able to present some of its design projects in detail.

“It was very interesting to learn how an agency works, what their approach is, from the first drafts to the finished design. In addition, the exhibition was generally very nice and I was able to take a lot of inspiration with me,” says Antonia.
