“I will come back here with my children,” said Kim Gevaert (44) fifteen years ago when she visited Congo. The Olympic gold winner kept her word. This week she flew back, together with her husband Djeke Mambo (46) and their four children. Vince (13), Romeo (12), Lili (10) and Nora (5) were introduced to their dad’s roots and their mom’s work as an ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages for the first time. “We want our children to grow up without blinkers.”
