Exciting upcycling campaign at Rock am Ring

The eco-initiatives “tentation” and “Utopia” want to promote more sustainability with an upcycling campaign at this year’s “Rock am Ring” festival. Bags, rucksacks and jackets are then made from the tents that have been left behind.

The profits should flow into ecological and social projects, as the organizers announced. There will be several collection boxes for handing in abandoned tents for the campaign. Anything left over is collected. There will also be a repair service for visitors with damaged tents. Tents can also be rented.

The festival is also breaking new ground when it comes to waste disposal: visitors will be given garbage bags, and there will be special recycling stations where ecological waste separation is possible. According to the organizers, collected rubbish should later be sorted by machine. Reusable cups and crockery with a deposit should reduce the waste around the food and drink stands. Free water dispensers have been the norm for a long time.

After a long Corona break, Rock am Ring will take place from June 3rd to 5th, 2022 at the Nürburgring (Eifel). 90,000 fans are expected. Featuring Green Day, Muse, Måneskin, Marteria, Beatsteaks, Casper and Drangsal.

New app for Rock am Ring/Rock im Park

The organizers recently published an app that visitors can use to plan their personal festival. Rock am Ring begins, for example, on the Friday of the festival with a lunchtime performance by the Donots on the Utopia Stage. Performances by Weezer, Måneskin, The Offspring, Broilers and Green Day follow on the same evening. On Saturday, Muse will be joined by Placebo and Gang Of Youths, among others. Volbeat, Korn and Bullet For My Valentine play on Sunday. The complete timetable with all stages and times can be found in the official “Rock am Ring / Rock im Park” app.

Music lovers who can’t make it to Rock am Ring can also be there: this year, the concerts at the Nürburgring will be broadcast free of charge by RTL+.
