Luke Littler has hardly been stopped since his triumph at the Darts World Championship 2025. On the tour, the superstar hurries from victory to victory, in the Premier League the Youngster can almost plan with participation in the final tournament. Ex-world champion Dennis Priestley therefore advises the 18-year-old to take a break.

The Premier League Darts, which is held every Thursday in Great Britain, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as the tournaments of the PDC Tour on weekends ensure that Luke Littler doesn’t even find any more time for training. After his day victory in Cardiff, he revealed that he hadn’t been on the board for a week.

“I have to admit that I haven’t taken a dart since last Thursday. You have to rest from time to time, so I took a week out to relax, but I am enjoying my services at the moment,” said the Premier League title defender at “Sky Sports”.

Darts: Does Littler have to take a break?

Ex-world champion Dennis Priestley fears that the 18-year-old could grow over the head. “You have a full schedule with tournaments in the middle of the week and on weekends, he is in hotels in different cities and probably no longer has time for training,” the former darts professional told “Olbg”.

The 74-year-old warned this: “He plays so often that he may not have to train, but he has to be careful not to burn out.” Littler should therefore think about “taking a break,” said the Englishman, who expects the shooting star to be the new number one in the world shortly, even if he treats himself to a break.

“You can say that he is the best player in history who has never been the number one in the world – but that will change this year with certainty,” said the BDO title holder from 1991: “The ranking includes the prize money for two years. That is the only reason why he is not at the top. But it is only a matter of time.”
