The season in the premier class of motorsport is still a long time. But Red Bull Racing apparently reacts early to disappointing results of a pilot.

After just two races of the current season, the Formula 1 top team Red Bull Racing is a surprising personnel decision. According to media reports, Yuki Tsunoda could already take over Liam Lawson’s cockpit at the Grand Prix in Suzuka on April 6th. There was no official confirmation on Tuesday evening on the AFP request.

The 23-year-old Lawson started at the start of Max Verstappen at the beginning of the season-as the successor to Sergio Pérez. But the start was disappointing for the New Zealand. While Verstappen runs at the front despite technical problems, Lawson continues to wait for his first point in the new season.

Tsunoda, who previously started for the sister team Racing Bulls, is to move to the main team for the home race in Japan, according to Canal+ and “De Telegraaf”. The 24-year-old recently became twelfth in Australia, but also remained in China without points.

It remains to be seen whether the step for Tsunoda is a progress in the long term. In the past, several drivers had difficulty assisting themselves – including Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and most recently Sergio Pérez. Red Bull managers had already indicated a possible change in the past few weeks.
