Kik Pierie has signed a contract for two seasons with Excelsior. The 22-year-old defender comes over from Ajax. In the past six months, Pierie has already been rented out to Excelsior by the team from Amsterdam.
“I am very happy to be here,” says Pierie on the website of the Rotterdam club. “The last few weeks were of course a bit restless. I really wanted to go back to Excelsior, but I had to be patient. Kik Pierie was born in the United States, but grew up in the Netherlands. He started as a professional football player at sc Heerenveen. After two years in Friesland, he was bought by Ajax, which paid 5 million euros for him. In Amsterdam, the central defender did not come out and was rented out to FC Twente from 2020 to 2022. Last season, Pierie started the first half of the season at Jong Ajax and the second half of the year he was active at Excelsior.
In the end, Pierie would not play a single match in the main force in Amsterdam. At Excelsior, Pierie played seven games last season, in which he scored once.
