Ex-Star Responds to Emotional Kahn Appeal

FC Bayern is in crisis during the hot phase of the season. Ex-professional Stefan Effenberg has now made the players of the German record champions responsible. In addition, the TV expert responded to the emotional appeal of CEO Oliver Kahn.

The 1-1 draw against TSG Hoffenheim, threatened with relegation, was another major setback for FC Bayern.

As Stefan Effenberg noted in his column for “Sport1”, the Bundesliga leader was “knocked on”. The Bavarians “did not have the charisma that is otherwise known from them,” the ex-national player put his finger in the wound.

On Sunday, CEO Oliver Kahn made an emotional appeal to his stars. “Just one point again and the next setback for us! Results and performances like these cannot be our claim,” wrote the 53-year-old on Twitter.

To top it all off, FC Bayern has a real Herculean task on Wednesday. Manchester City are guests in the Champions League for the quarter-final second leg in Munich. The Bundesliga team needs a miracle after last Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to make it into the semi-finals.

“That’s what FC Bayern stands for”

“It was now also discussed that the Bayern boss only made an announcement about the crisis via tweet after the Hoffenheim duel: But Oliver Kahn has already proven that he can show more emotions – he also has that in Dortmund in the stands done,” Effenberg commented on the Bayern boss’s action.

The 2001 Champions League winner said: “He has to [Kahn] but also show, because that’s what FC Bayern stands for.” But above all, Effenberg held the players responsible. “One way or another: the team is now required, with this quality and the demands the team has to deliver … not them bosses or whoever. Point!” said the “Tiger”.
