A football legend Paul Gascoigne56, continues to struggle daily with substance abuse.

“Gazza” tells High Performance in his interview that he is homeless and staying with his manager by Katie Davies by.

– I used to be a happy drunk, not anymore. I’m a sad drunk. I don’t go out to drink, I drink indoors, says Gascoigne, who captured the hearts of the English in the 1990 World Cup.

Over the years, the Highlands have also been in the news. Gascoigne has previously grabbed himself by the neck and sought help for his substance abuse problem.

In the interview, he regrets that injuries took away the opportunity to reach the 100-game milestone in the English national team.

– People know Paul Gascoigne but not Gazza. Not always myself. I spent years in the Netherlands when I lost ligaments and then my kneecap. I lost four years of football.

In the end, he played 57 games in the shirt of the Three Lions, and the playmaking wizard completed ten goals in them.

Fishing and coffee

Gascoigne’s battle to overcome his craving for alcohol has been long but unsuccessful. From time to time, the man has lived a sober life, until the cap caused by some adversity has opened again.

After a career that ended in 2004, managing life has been difficult. Alcohol addiction has led to arrests as a result of various cell phone riots.

He says he rarely follows football anymore because he misses the sport so much.

– If I want to make the day bad, I just have to go to the pub. If I want to make the day good, I take my rod and go fishing.

Gascoigne, who described himself as an eternal alcoholic, still thinks it’s possible that things could be better.

– I have never given up. I believe at that point I will be in a wooden box. Until then, I’ll keep fighting.

While living with his manager, Gascoigne has found a new way to stay away from alcohol besides the AA club. The former soccer player drinks copious amounts of coffee a day, often six cups before the clock strikes ten in the morning.

Gascoigne’s favorite is the chocolate Mocha, which he consumes 15 servings a day.

However, the temptations are sometimes literally behind the door, as Davies has revealed that bottles of gin are often left outside the house for Gascoigne. They are a trick to get pictures of the legend.
