Ex-professional Tiffert demanded: Chemnitzer FC puts coach Berlinski on leave – contract expires

“Strategic Consideration”

Chemnitzer FC is separating from coach Daniel Berlinski with immediate effect, who will be on leave before his contract expires in the summer. The sky blues have already found a replacement in the previous assistant coach and ex-professional Christian Tiffert, who will be in charge of the team until the end of the season. In the second year after being relegated to the third division, Chemnitz is currently in fifth place, ten points behind first-placed BFC Dynamo. Only the relay champion qualifies for the promotion round to the 3rd division.

“The decision was not easy for me, especially because of the last results,” said CFC Managing Director Sport Marc Arnold in reference to Berlinski, who won seven of the last ten league games with the team. Chemnitz lost for the last time in mid-October. Arnold reasoned that he had to “consider the overall development over a longer period of time and analyze it without emotional transfiguration. With a view to the orientation for the coming season, we will therefore fill the position of head coach. The coaching decision is therefore not a hasty decision, but solely a strategic consideration for the positive future of the CFC.”

With A-license holder Tiffert, Arnold continues, “an experienced football expert who has repeatedly demonstrated his leadership qualities as an active player and most recently as an assistant coach.” Whoever will sit on the bench in Chemnitz in the future the club has not yet announced.
