Former defender Kolo Touré becomes head coach. The 41-year-old is leaving Leicester City, giving up his position as an assistant to start a front row spell at second division side Wigan Athletic. Both clubs made the change perfect on Tuesday. Touré signed a contract with the “Latics” until 2026. Touré, who was active as a player for Liverpool and Manchester City, among others, celebrates his debut in about two weeks with the away game at promotion candidates FC Millwall.

The former defender joined Leicester in February 2019 together with coach Brendan Rodgers and has since accompanied 186 games with a point average of 1.86. During his active career, he learned from well-known coaches such as Rodgers, Jürgen Klopp, Roberto Mancini and Arsène Wenger. With 327 games, Touré made the most under the Frenchman.
