Kasim Edebali has retired

German footballer Kasim Edebali has ended his career. The longtime NFL professional announced this on social media on Monday.

The 33-year-old linebacker had played a total of 62 times in the US professional league for the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals.

Edebali lost the final of the European League of Football (ELF) for the second time in a row with the Hamburg Sea Devils on Sunday. The Hanseatic League lost 15:27 to the Vienna Vikings in Klagenfurt/Austria.

Born in Hamburg, he made it into the Saints squad in 2014 via Boston College. Edebali also played for the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders before joining Hamburg in the newly formed ELF last year.
