Former MotoGP rider Danilo Petrucci sustained numerous injuries in a horrific fall in the United States and sharply criticized the race organizers.
“I lay there unassisted for over two minutes listening to the bikes go by me until I got up and walked to the medical center on my own,” the Italian wrote on Instagram.
He fell with his Ducati “at 280 km/h” and “hit three sponsor signs” with his body, according to Petrucci. “I sustained multiple burns, multiple bruises and a deep cut on my ankle that required five stitches.”
The 31-year-old posted some unsavory images of his abrasions and swelling.
“Petrux”, who competes in MotoGP from 2012 to 2021, crashed after crossing the finish line in a round of the MotoAmerica series at Virginia International Raceway.
The leader of the overall standings had dodged an opponent.
