It had become pleasantly quiet around the former “Baby, One More Time” singer. After she freed herself from the clutches of her (manager) father in a lawsuit full of deprivation, she enjoyed her freedom. Partly with rather revealing beach photos on Instagram.
After all sorts of social media-heavy trips, Spears, 40, has now married for the third time. In September 2021 she had announced the wedding, now came the ring exchange with sports agent and fitness trainer Sam Asghari. Its information spokesman issued a semi-personal statement. “I’m blown away that the day has come — and they’re married.”
Spears and then (sports) model Asghari met five years ago on the sidelines of the video shoot for the track “Slumber Party”. Asghari had supported her during the difficult years when she was under the thumb of her formerly overbearing father.
The US magazine “People” claims to have learned that the ceremony took place in a comparatively discreet setting. We’re talking about just 60 guests. The (unconfirmed) invite list included stage companion Madonna, Drew Barrymore, the eternal Paris Hilton and fashion designer Donatella Versace.
But it wouldn’t be Britney Spears if there hadn’t been a shrill extra note. Before the California wedding, her ex-husband was arrested by the local police because he tried to disrupt the wedding massively.
Had a manic effect on the wedding
Ex-husband Jason Alexander, who was briefly married to Spears around 2004, had raised a lot of alarm. He was arrested outside the Spears home, according to the Ventura County Police Department.
Authorities confirmed an anonymous 911 call that a man had been sneaking around the singer’s Los Angeles home. Because of an arrest warrant in another case, he would have been taken into custody immediately. Various US portals have reported that Alexander had just seemed manic about the wedding.
A pixelated video circulating online shows a man walking across the property. He was here to “crash” the wedding. “Where’s Britney?” he shouted at the organizational staff. Fistfights ensued; but the police, who were soon present, were able to cool down the situation quickly.
