Doubts about ex-Bayern coach
According to media reports, Julian Nagelsmann will not be the new coach at Tottenham Hotspur. Like the ones, among others “BBC” reports that there should have been no talks between the former FC Bayern coach and those responsible for the Premier League club – and these are not (any longer) planned. The “Spurs” would not consider Nagelsmann for the vacant post. After the separation from Antonio Conte at the end of March, a new man is being sought on the sidelines for the 2023/24 season.
Tottenham are currently looking at other candidates, although Nagelsmann has a lot of respect “Telegraph”. Also Fabrizio Romano claims to have learned from sources from the club that there are no plans to negotiate with Nagelsmann about an engagement. Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou and Sporting’s Rúben Amorim are reported to be among the names now being traded for Tottenham boss Daniel Levy. There is also speculation about Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi and Burnley’s Vincent Kompany.
Nagelsmann, Potter & Co.: These well-known trainers are on the market
According to the reports, Nagelsmann himself was not ready to enter into negotiations as long as there was no favorite for the vacant sporting director post. According to the “Picture” At Tottenham there were apparently doubts that the 35-year-old was ready for a new challenge after his surprising exit in Munich. The English were said to be interested in Nagelsmann’s services in 2019, who was still responsible for RB Leipzig at the time. The trainer is said to have turned down an offer at the time.
Nagelsmann, who wants to completely reorganize his coaching team, was recently also associated with Chelsea. In all likelihood, however, there will be no employment with the Blues either, Mauricio Pochettino is considered the favourite. Nagelsmann’s potential new club would very likely have to pay a fee to FC Bayern because his contract with the record champions runs until 2026.
