Ex-Eintracht coach Glasner is not looking for a timely commitment

Eintracht Frankfurt’s outgoing coach Oliver Glasner does not assume that he will take over a club again in the near future and start preparing for the new season with it. Rather, he is considering a creative break for further training, the 48-year-old said of the “Picture“-Newspaper.

Glasner had won the Europa League with the Hessians during his two-year tenure and reached the cup final last season. With an average of 1.51 points from 97 games, the Austrian is one of the 20 most successful coaches in club history. At SGE, the coach will be replaced by Dino Toppmöller on July 1st.

In recent months, Glasner has been associated with various European clubs, including as a candidate for the position at Tottenham Hotspur that has been vacant in the meantime. “I don’t think I’ll be sitting on a coaching bench again in July. But I can well imagine sitting in on other sports as a trainer to broaden my horizons a bit,” Glasner is quoted as saying in the newspaper.

“I’ve been in football since I was 18, now I really have time for my family and myself because I’m not constantly thinking about the pre-season or the next friendly opponent,” continued the native of Salzburg. However, he remains open to offers.

Glasner on Frankfurt separation: “Can all look us in the eye”

Glasner said with some distance about the process of separation from Eintracht, which has not been silent in the meantime: “What makes me really happy: we can all look each other in the eyes in Frankfurt. It was two outstanding years. First winning the Europa League, then participating in the Champions League, now qualifying for the Conference League. I will always be happy to come back to Eintracht and to Frankfurt.”

After difficult weeks in the season finale, together they “got the curve again. If we were at ‘Wünsch Dir was’, after qualifying for the Conference League, we would also have won the cup final. But unfortunately we didn’t make it.”
