Ex-Dortmunder Antonios Papadopoulos is apparently in the focus of Besiktas. According to Sky, the 26-year-old FC Lugano defender is high on the Istanbul team’s list. Accordingly, the top Turkish club wants to sign a new central defender in the winter and has been monitoring Papadopoulos for several weeks.

Papadopoulos moved from BVB to FC Lugano on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. In Dortmund he played 70 games for the second team and five for the first team. He is an integral part of the starting line-up for the Swiss first division club and has made 65 appearances after around a year and a half. Papadopoulos has a contract there until 2027.
Its market value reached its personal high of 3.5 million euros in December 2024, but since the last update in October it is valued at 3 million euros. At Besiktas, three of the four central defenders in the squad are more highly valued.
