Ex-coach Felix Magath wants to continue

The former football master coach Felix Magath, formerly with FC Bayern and most recently with Hertha BSC, is not yet thinking about retiring.

“I don’t want to be managing director, coach and manager again at the next club. One position would be enough for me. I still feel capable of that,” said the 69-year-old in the “Sky” interview.

Most recently, he had led Hertha BSC to stay up in the relegation last season. In 2005 and 2006 Magath was German champion with FC Bayern. In 2009 he won the cup with VfL Wolfsburg.

“I noticed it in Berlin, these games didn’t bother me. It was pure joy. A Bundesliga season wouldn’t bother me. That wouldn’t even be enough for me. I still want to play in the cup and in Europe as a coach,” emphasized the former national player and two-time vice world champion.

Ex-Hertha coach Magath: “I don’t have to work, I want to work”

He is in a comfortable situation: “I don’t have to work, I want to work. I also want to do something somewhere where I see prospects. Last season, the eight games with Hertha BSC were a nice task and it wasn’t that easy, turn the corner. When I got there, the club was dead.”

It was an “exciting task” and he was satisfied with the old lady’s relegation: “I can’t say whether I would be satisfied with it now. That would depend on the talks. I want and will work again. Whether in Berlin Or somewhere else, I don’t know. I’m still healthy.”
