Ex-BVB star Dahoud as the new leader at VfB Stuttgart

Mahmoud Dahoud is the only external newcomer that the Bundesliga surprise team from VfB Stuttgart made in the winter transfer period. The 28-year-old has now fully arrived and is living up to the leadership role that was intended for him by the VfB bosses. The former national player even scored for his colors for the first time in Darmstadt.

Dahoud is on loan from English first division club Brighton & Hove Albion until the summer. Every club that had already loaned Deniz Undav to the Swabians on loan, who also made a great impression at VfB.

Dahoud is still waiting for his first starting eleven appearance for Stuttgart, but has already appeared as a substitute in four competitive games. This was also the case during the difficult guest appearance at SV Darmstadt 98 last Saturday, when the 28-year-old came on as a substitute in the 81st minute.

Shortly before the end, Dahoud made it 2-0 with his first Bundesliga goal in over two years, Aaron Seydel only made the result cosmetic for Darmstadt with his connecting goal.

On the Stuttgart side, the protagonists were full of praise for Dahoud, who should find his way back to his top form in the country and become a factor in the race for Champions League qualification.

Dahoud soon in the VfB starting eleven?

“He’s the same as before, hasn’t changed. Mo always wants to have the ball, he talks a lot and is good for the team. I’m glad he’s with us,” said VfB captain Waldemar Anton, who already works with Dahoud played together in the German U21 national team.

And VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth also saw confirmation that he had released Dahoud from England after Stuttgart’s debut goal: “Mo was immediately in the duels, secured balls and scored the important 2-0. The fact that we brought him in is important It’s already paid off to some extent today.”

VfB head coach Sebastian Hoeneß recently left it unclear when the Swabians would make their first starting eleven appearance.
