Frydek and Vasic also stay
Ex-Bundesliga professional Christian Gentner has extended his expiring contract with FC Luzern. The 36-year-old signed a new working paper until June 30, 2023. The midfielder had left 1. FC Union Berlin last year and was hired abroad for the first time. Gentner played 40 games for the Swiss and also took over the captain’s armband.
“We are happy that we were able to extend the contract by another year with an experienced player like Christian. He has shown impressively that he can lead a team with his experience and great sporting ambition and accordingly played a large part in the team’s positive development during the second half of the season,” said sporting director Remo Meyer. In addition to Gentner, left-back Martin Frydek (30) and goalkeeper Vaso Vasic (32) have also signed new contracts until 2024.
