Former Bundesliga coach Marcel Koller (62) can no longer take the double with his Egyptian club Al Ahly Cairo. After the African Champions League, Koller also won the national soccer championship with Al Ahly.
Chaser Pyramids Cairo can no longer push the record champions off the top of the table after their own 2-1 defeat.
Koller, who works for 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum in Germany, took over Al Ahly a year ago. The native of Zurich led the now 43-time champion to victory in the Champions League (2-1/1-1) in June after a two-leg match against Wydad Casablanca from Morocco.
It was the eleventh continental triumph for Al Ahly, who are unbeaten in 29 league games under Koller.
