Without a club since the summer
Former Bundesliga coach Adi Hütter would like to look after a club in England. “My big goal is the Premier League, we’re working on that,” said the 53-year-old in an interview with “Kicker”. The Austrian was most recently active in the German Oberhaus for Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has been without a club since leaving the “Fohlen” last summer.

When asked what appealed to him about the Premier League, Hütter replied: “It’s the most interesting league in the world, where the best coaches work. There are an incredible number of possibilities and potential there.” He thinks that with his “idea of football he could fit very well into this league”. Hütter confirmed that there had been “several interesting inquiries” last year, including from the Premier League, but that they “came too early”. Hütter emphasized that since the end of 2022 he has felt “an insanely great desire” to take over a team. As early as November he had said on “Sky” that he was “very hungry” for a new job.
Hütter enjoyed the time without a club “incredibly. I was able to recharge my batteries and didn’t feel the pressure of having to win every weekend. In addition, I was able to reflect on what was good and what was not so good.” His commitment to Borussia ended after just one season and 37 games across all competitions, in which he averaged 1.38 points per game, which was the lowest value in his career as a is the men’s head coach. Originally, his contract in Mönchengladbach would have expired in 2024.
When asked where he sees himself in five years, Hütter said: “If the Premier League should work out, I would be happy. It would also be nice to one day coach the Austrian national team at a world or European championship. After my career, I want to be able to draw a line and say that I did a lot right. As an Austrian, you always look at the German Bundesliga. It makes me proud that I worked for two traditional clubs there.”
